This website is devoted to the pursuit of the truth, whether pertaining to history, world affairs, cultural or religious matters.

What is truth? Almost two thousand years ago this same question was put to Jesus of Nazareth by the Roman procurator of Judea, Pontius Pilate. Interestingly, the Prophet from Galilee gave no reply, as if to emphasise the human inability to grasp truth in its fullness. This deliberate silence should in no way be interpreted as indifference to the truth, for earlier the Prophet had taught his followers that they would know the truth and that the truth would set them free. Furthermore, He told his opponents who clung to the letter of the Mosaic law that they were followers of the father of lies. The latter is none other than the malignant spirit called the devil, which has for millennia been plotting and working against God, the source of truth.

We thus witness an all-pervading struggle throughout history, as much as in the world we live in today, between the truth and the lie. And since the world has been for thousands of years under the dominion of the father of lies, as the Prophet also taught, it is only to be expected that the lie would prevail over the truth, at least most of the time. On the human level this implies that there would be always be more followers of the lie than of the truth, speaking of mankind as a whole. As a famous writer put it, a lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still lacing its shoes.

In the modern world this dominion of the lie is rigidly maintained and enforced by the mass media, in both its printed and electronic forms. Through their control of these media the enemies of the truth wage an incessant campaign of misinformation, deception, semantic distortion and suppression of the truth among its victims: readers, listeners and viewers. Vast is its control of the human masses in their vanity, ignorance and apathy.

Without in any way pretending to be infallible, it is our aim to work against this empire of the lie, which has gained monstrous proportions especially in the secular humanist West. If we can manage to make a small contribution towards the promotion of the truth, we would be satisfied and grateful indeed.
